Welcome
The more we know about each other, the closer we are to learn something about ourselves. - Maya Angelou
Welcome!
I have been teaching in the New York City public education system for 20+ years. I am also a published author of Authentic Assessments for the English Classroom, a public speaker, and activist. On May 28, 2025, I was awarded for outstanding commitment and dedication to the District 15 School Community. I presently teach 7th grade ELA in an ICT setting, lead the 7th grade ELA meetings, and I am a model teacher that encourages intervisitations with guided reflection that helps build teaching community amongst my peers. I have taught at NYU Steinhardt and mentored numerous NYC public school teachers over the course of my career.
My main objective as an educator and activist, is to upkeep our American democracy by inspiring my fellow educators, students and their families to be critical thinkers, and feel empowered to make impactful changes in the school system that impacts the community.
